Who we are

We're a consortium of friendly woodworkers. Or, a social club that makes lots of sawdust. Our Shop is in space provided by the Leisure World community, and our tools are traditional and high tech. If you currently enjoy woodworking or metalworking as a hobby, or want to try your hand, we welcome you to join.

Our membership includes men and women who are novices and seasoned experts, with a broad range of skills and interests.

Our cadre of volunteer Monitors provide safety oversight, and tips and assistance in using our machines and tools. Your dues pay for maintenance and consumable supplies. Much of our inventory of hardware, small tools, paints and finishes was donated by Members.

Our Mission

We maintain resources and a facility to allow residents of Leisure World to pursue a hobby in wood and metal working. We share our knowledge and skill to help each other solve problems and achieve success in the creation and repair of new and used wooden and metal items. We also extend assistance to other Leisure World residents and organizations to repair their possessions. Safety is Paramount An experienced Monitor is on duty during Shop hours to ensure that machinery and tools are used in a safe manner to protect Members and our visitors from injury. The Monitors can provide advice, assistance and suggestions to help Members produce satisfying results. Personal protection devices like dust masks, safety glasses, and ear protectors are available for use, and many Members bring their own.
